Fostering Global Connections: South African Ambassadors from the SADC Visit Richter Lighting Technologies

In an event organized by IHK Region Stuttgart, a delegation comprising of ambassadors from nine South African nations toured various companies in the Ostwürttemberg region. One such location was Richter Lighting Technologies in Heubach.

Richter Lighting Technologies, a Heubach-based architectural solutions manufacturer, welcomed a distinguished delegation of South African ambassadors from the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and Dr. Joy Alemazung, the Mayor of Heubach.

While at Richter Lighting Technologies, company CEO and IHK Ostwürttemberg Vice President, Bernd Richter presented the company’s innovative approach to manufacturing its solutions (acoustic ceiling systems and LED lighting solutions,) its commitment to sustainability, and its diverse workforce, which accommodates employees from as many as 34 countries to the delegation.

Bernd emphasized the company’s ongoing commitment to global collaboration, with initiatives like adopting English as the official working language and also provision of free weekly German classes for employees. Also discussed was Richter Lighting Technologies existing relationship with universities in the region like the Hochschule Aalen, a collaboration that not only fosters innovation through academic partnerships but also strengthens local talent recruitment, bolsters research initiatives, and deepens community ties.

Capping off the event, Heubach’s Mayor, Dr. Joy Alemazung, shared insightful remarks on the critical distinction between welcoming immigrants and merely tolerating them, emphasizing the need for genuine inclusivity and acceptance in our communities. He also discussed further practical ideas for possible collaboration, deepening the contacts.
